former career Army officer assigned as an instructor to Air University,
Air Command and Staff College, Maxwell Air Force Base after having
completed the Air Force Instructor Course.Jim joined Realty Options in 1990 and by the end of '91, was listed as a top "7" agent in Montgomery's 'Who's Who in Real Estate Residential Award Winners, placing him in the top 1% of all local REALTORS®. In '92, he obtained his broker's license, and started the 1st franchise of Realty Options which he owned and operated for three years in Prattville, AL. The two offices later combined in Montgomery where he became the Broker. Starting in 2001, Jim was an associate broker for 3 years with RE/MAX of Montgomery. In May 2004 he co-founded Central Alabama Real Estate Academy with Dan Stallings, broker of Montgomery Metro Realty Inc. a company Jim later joined. He is the academy's chief instructor and administrator. |

Jim holds the designations of ABR (Accredited Buyers Representative) and CRS (Certified Residential Specialist) which only the top 4% of all REALTORS® hold this designation. He is an Alabama State approved real estate instructor since '99. Jim was "e-PRO" certified the first year (2000) the course was offered by the National Board of REALTORS® and later (2008) became Alabama's first e-PRO Trainer. Jim
is married to his high school ('68) sweetheart, Glenda,
with advanced degrees from Troy University and Alabama State
University. She works in the Central Office, Elmore
County Board of
Education, as the Curriculum Specialist
(K-4) working
with all 5 elementary schools in Elmore county. Together
they have 3 children: Joshua
a graduate
of Culinary
Arts / Hospitality
Management Trenholm State Technical College, is currently a
member of the "craft
services" union and is employed on assorted
food service projects in LA California. Donna
(married to Ken Stricklin newly appointed
Postmaster of Brundidge AL)
is a graduate of Troy University (Montgomery) and is an
Assistant
Vice President of Sterling Bank, Private Banker and proud
parents
of the first granddaughter - Emma Jane. Jonathan
works with his father (RealtyVan.com Team) and is the new owner and
broker of Apex Listings. Along
with his wife Crystal (working for the
District Attorney of the 19th Judicial Circuit of Alabama) they are the proud
parents of the
first Grandson Jonathan Christian (first grade)
along with his twin brothers Alex and Bret and the
newest granddaughter Brianna (Anna). Jim
and Glenda enjoy gardening, their 5 grandchildren and actively support
the Montgomery
Zoo.
They moved to their home in Montgomery (June '04)
after
having lived in their previous home in Prattville for 16 years. Jim recently graduated form the Montgomery Police Department's Citizens' Police Academy Class 2008-1 |

From 2000 to
2005 Jim served on the board of directors of the
Condominium Association for CaraVita Village
(formerly Covenant Village) Montgomery's Premier Retirement Community
with independent apartment living and assisted living facilities.
